VISION
We believe church is far more than a Sunday morning experience. The vision of MainStreet is to be an active everyday presence in the Westonka community: imitating Jesus, building relationships in the marketplace, serving others, reaching the next generations, and doing life together in deeper community.
In striving to fulfill this vision we have set the following goals:
Launch a network of a home-based LifeGroups until we have a group in every neighborhood in Mound.
Organize regular outreach/serving opportunities in the community.
Intentionally build relationships with local businesses, organizations, churches and schools to mutually enrich one another.
Launch a fresh, dynamic Confirmation program and Revolution teen ministry targeting and uniting Mound Westonka youth.
Gather together for energetic, Bible-centered worship services on Sundays.
Key to our vision is the desire to eventually secure storefront retail space on main street and open a cafe where we can, like the Apostle Paul, shine the light of Christ "in the marketplace daily with those who happened to be there" (Acts 17:17). A cafe location would enable us to engage the community on a daily basis by offering a place to gather with friends, a live music venu on Friday nights, a homebase for organizing service projects, a well-needed youth hangout spot, and much more.
CORE VALUES
Grace Abounds.
We're all sinners saved by grace. Relax and be yourself (Rom. 8:1).
Bold Faith.
We set impossible goals, take bold steps of faith and watch God move (Rom. 4:17).
Jesus Filter.
Jesus and his kingdom teachings shape our views on
everything
(Col. 2:1-4).
Living Word.
God's Word is alive and active, speaking afresh to us today (Heb. 4:12).
Spirit-dependent
.
As the Holy Spirit moves, we provide opportunities to respond (Heb. 3:15).
Local Impact.
We exist to reach and serve the Westonka community (Mt. 5:13-16).
Deeper Fellowship.
Faith formation happens best in smaller groups (Acts 2:42-47).
Beyond the Walls.
When people don't come to church, the church must go to them (Acts. 17:17).
Along with these core values, our theology and beliefs are aligned with the core Affirmations of the Evangelical Covenant Church defined

.
AFFILIATION
MainStreet Community is part of the
Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC)
. We are a rapidly growing multi-ethnic denomination in the United States and Canada with ministries on five continents of the world. Founded in 1885 by Swedish Immigrants, the ECC values the Bible as the Word of God, the gift of God's grace and ever-deepening spiritual life that comes through faith in Jesus Christ, the importance of extending God's love and compassion to a hurting world, and the strength that comes from unity within diversity.

STORY & CALL
During seminary, Jeremy worked in the Mound schools as a teacher, coach and driving instructor. God used these roles to foster a burden for his hometown community of Mound -- especially the local teens. In 2005, Jeremy sensed God calling him to use his influence in Mound to launch a new ministry to reach teens for Christ.
Revolution
was launched in partnership with Bethel Methodist Church, using music outreach events, worship concerts, and a weekly home Bible Study to reach many teens with the message and mission of Jesus. The ministry captured the attention of the community, made
local headlines
, and demonstrated that Mound was ready for a fresh movement of God.
Unfortunately, working 6 jobs between them while planting a new ministry soon took it's toll on Keri and Jeremy. In 2007, the Bergs made the difficult decision to walk away from the Revolution ministry in Mound just as it was gaining momentum to seek personal renewal and financial stability.
After three years of youth ministry at
Faith Covenant Church
in Burnsville, MN, Jeremy and Keri sensed God calling them back to Mound, and were commissioned by the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC) to plant MainStreet Covenant Church. MainStreet believes God wants to raise up a new community of believers in Mound to be the transforming presence of Christ in the heart of this community.
The town of Mound is a smaller suburban community on the West end of Lake Minnetonka. Local churches in Mound have struggled over the past couple decades, and sadly many Mound families have left local churches and now drive 20 or so minutes outside the community on Sundays to worship.
We believe God has called Jeremy to help rally the people of Mound to rise up and be the church right here in this city -- shining the light of Christ into our own neighborhoods, schools, businesses, organizations and churches. This God-sized Vision will require supernatural power and provision. We are choosing to walk by faith, not by sight (2 Cor 5:7) and trust in the God who calls things into being that do not yet exist (Rom 4:17).
Join us for the adventure!
